St-Germain is the elderflower liqueur that quietly made its way onto back bars everywhere, and it earns its place at Camp West in West Seattle. This French liqueur is made from handpicked elderflowers, giving it a delicate, floral sweetness that lifts almost any cocktail it touches. In our cabin-inspired room, it is the secret behind a bright spritz on a warm afternoon or a softer, more aromatic twist on a classic.
About the Producer
St-Germain was created by Robert Cooper and launched in 2007. It is made in France using the blossoms of elderflower, which are handpicked in the spring over a short annual window, with each bottle marked for the year the flowers were collected. The brand is now part of Bacardi. Bottled at 20% ABV, its Art Deco bottle is named after the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood of Paris.
Style & Flavor
This is an elderflower liqueur: light, floral, and gently sweet. It is more delicate and aromatic than most liqueurs, with a flavor that hints at fruit and flowers rather than any single one. That subtlety is exactly why bartenders reach for it, adding lift and perfume without overpowering a drink.
Tasting Notes
Expect aromas of elderflower, pear, and a touch of citrus blossom. The palate is delicately sweet and floral, with notes of ripe pear, lychee, and honeysuckle. The finish is light, clean, and softly perfumed.
How to Enjoy It at Camp West
Our St-Germain pour is $12. It is at its best in cocktails: try it in a sparkling elderflower spritz with bubbles and soda, or as the floral note in a gin or vodka cocktail. It can also be sipped over ice if you want something light and aromatic. Tell your bartender what you are in the mood for and we will build around it.
