Copperworks Gin is a hometown pour at Camp West — distilled right here in Seattle, just across the water from our spot in West Seattle. We love putting a local craft gin in front of our guests, and Copperworks earns its place with a distinctive malt-forward character and a thoughtful, ten-botanical recipe. When you want a gin with a sense of place and a genuine craft pedigree, this is the one we are proud to pour.
About the Distillery
Copperworks Distilling Co. was founded in Seattle by brewing veteran Jason Parker and homebrewing expert Micah Nutt. The distillery works from a base of premium malted barley, much of it grown in Washington State, and distills in hand-crafted Scottish copper pot stills — an unusual, brewer’s approach that gives their spirits real depth. Copperworks was named Distillery of the Year by the American Distilling Institute in 2018.
Botanicals & Style
Copperworks Small Batch Gin is built on ten botanicals, including juniper, coriander, grains of paradise, licorice root, orris root, and angelica root. The malted-barley base sets it apart from neutral-grain gins, lending a subtle richness and roundness beneath the classic botanical profile. The style sits in the contemporary craft camp — juniper is present and proper, but balanced by citrus, gentle spice, and that signature malt body.
Tasting Notes
Expect a fragrant nose of juniper and coriander citrus, with the grains of paradise adding a light peppery lift. The palate is rounder and richer than most thanks to the malt base, with earthy angelica and a touch of licorice sweetness. The finish is smooth, warm, and gently spiced.
How to Enjoy It at Camp West
Copperworks rewards a well-made martini, where its malt-driven body adds real texture, and it makes a wonderfully complex gin and tonic. It also stands up beautifully in a Negroni. Ask your bartender to feature it. Copperworks pours at $11.
