The Browne Family Heritage Pinot Noir is a graceful, food-friendly red that brings a lighter, more aromatic option to our Pacific Northwest wine list in West Seattle. It comes from Browne Family Vineyards, a family-owned producer based in Walla Walla, Washington, whose Heritage wines are crafted specifically to be enjoyed alongside a meal — which is exactly how we love to pour them at Camp West.
About the Winery
Browne Family Vineyards was founded by Andrew Browne and named in honor of his grandfather, William Bitner Browne, whose love of wine inspired the family project. The winery opened its tasting room in 2014 in the historic downtown district of Walla Walla. The Heritage line is built around the idea that wine belongs at the table — rich, flavorful, and fruit-forward, made to complement food rather than overshadow it.
Region & Grape
Pinot Noir is one of the world’s most delicate and expressive red grapes — lighter in body than Cabernet or Syrah, with bright red fruit, silky texture, and a savory, earthy undercurrent. It’s a grape that rewards cooler growing conditions, which is what gives a good Pinot Noir its signature combination of perfume, finesse, and lively acidity. The result is a red that’s elegant and versatile rather than heavy.
Tasting Notes
Expect a fragrant, fruit-forward Pinot Noir with aromas of red cherry, raspberry, and a gentle hint of spice. The palate is smooth and medium-bodied, with bright red-fruit flavors, soft tannins, and an earthy, savory edge that keeps it grounded. It finishes clean and lively — a wine made to keep pace with a meal rather than dominate it.
What to Pair It With
Pinot Noir’s bright acidity and soft tannins make it one of the most versatile reds for the table. It’s lovely with our Sockeye Gnocchi (salmon), the Herb Chicken with Alfredo Risotto, or the Golden Salmon Cakes — Pinot is famously friendly with salmon and poultry alike.
