Herradura Silver is a dependable favorite on the agave list at Camp West, our 21-and-over cabin-inspired cocktail bar and restaurant in the West Seattle Junction. Made at Casa Herradura in Amatitan, Jalisco, one of the oldest continuously operating tequila estates in Mexico, it is a 100% agave silver tequila with a touch more character than most. It is a bottle we trust whether you are sipping it straight or building a great margarita here in West Seattle.
About the Producer
Casa Herradura has been making tequila in the Valle de Amatitan since 1870, giving it more than a century and a half of practice. The estate is known for growing its own agave and for traditional, estate-bottled production. Herradura helped shape the modern category, and its Silver remains a benchmark for what a well-made 100% agave blanco can be.
Agave & Region
Herradura uses estate-grown Blue Weber agave from the Amatitan area in the Jalisco lowlands, a region that tends to produce earthier, more robust tequilas than the highlands. The agave is slow-cooked in traditional ovens, then crushed, naturally fermented, and distilled in copper stills. A signature detail: Herradura Silver rests for about 45 days in American white oak, just short of the time required to be called a reposado, which gives it a smoothness many silver tequilas lack.
Tasting Notes
That brief rest shows. Herradura Silver leads with cooked agave and a robust, earthy backbone, layered with citrus zest, black pepper, and a faint hint of vanilla and oak. The finish is clean and distinctively sweet, with a woody mellowness that smooths the edges without masking the agave. It is bolder and more savory than a delicate highland blanco, which makes it versatile behind the bar.
How to Enjoy It at Camp West
Herradura Silver is excellent neat or on the rocks if you want to appreciate its earthy depth, and it shines in a fresh margarita or paloma where its backbone holds up against lime and citrus. We pour it at $12. Let your server know whether you are sipping or want it built into a cocktail and we will steer you right.
FAQ

Why does it taste smoother than other silvers? Herradura rests its Silver for about 45 days in American white oak before bottling. That short rest adds a hint of oak and a smooth, clean finish while keeping it a silver tequila.
