Luksusowa is a classic Polish potato vodka and a quietly excellent pour at Camp West, our cabin-inspired cocktail bar in the West Seattle Junction. The name translates from Polish as “luxury,” and it has been in continuous production since 1928, making it one of Poland’s oldest and most beloved vodkas. Distilled entirely from potatoes rather than grain, it brings a soft, rounded texture that we think makes it a standout on any back bar, which is exactly why it earned a place on ours.
About the Distillery
Luksusowa has deep Polish roots and has been produced since 1928. After Poland’s borders shifted westward following World War II, production moved to its current home in Zielona Gora, where it remains one of the country’s most recognized potato-vodka producers. The brand is owned today by Pernod Ricard.
Base & Production
Luksusowa is made from 100 percent locally sourced Polish potatoes grown around Zielona Gora. Potatoes are a demanding base, requiring far more raw material than grain, which is part of what gives the vodka its character. It is distilled multiple times in column stills and then brought down to bottling strength with pure water from deep natural aquifers.
Tasting Notes
Potato vodka has a signature feel, and Luksusowa shows it well: a creamy, silky body with a gentle earthiness and a touch of natural sweetness. The finish is clean and smooth, with none of the harsh bite you sometimes find in lighter grain vodkas.
How to Enjoy It at Camp West
Pours are $10. Its full, creamy texture makes Luksusowa a natural choice for a classic martini, where the potato character really shines. It is equally good with soda and a twist, or as the foundation for a clean, spirit-forward cocktail. Ask our bartenders for their take.
