Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel

Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel is the kind of bourbon we are proud to pour neat at Camp West, our cabin-inspired cocktail bar and restaurant in the West Seattle Junction. Bottled one barrel at a time at a robust 110 proof and never chill filtered, it carries the full weight of the Wild Turkey house style. When a guest wants something with real character to sip slowly, this is a bottle we point to.

About the Distillery

This bourbon comes from Wild Turkey in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, and bears the name of its legendary distilling family. The Russell’s Reserve line honors Jimmy Russell and his son Eddie Russell, a father-and-son master distiller team whose combined time at Wild Turkey exceeds a century. Their fingerprints are all over this whiskey: bold, oak-forward, and unapologetically classic. Each single-barrel bottling is drawn from one hand-selected barrel rather than blended for uniformity, so there is genuine variation from barrel to barrel.

Style & Mash Bill

This is a Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 110 proof (55% ABV) and non-chill-filtered, which preserves more of the oils and texture that give it a full, rich mouthfeel. As a single barrel, it is not cut to hit a uniform profile, so it drinks bigger and bolder than most standard bourbons.

Tasting Notes

The nose mixes rye spice and charred oak with sweet caramel, leather, tobacco, and toffee. The palate is rich and full-bodied, classic Wild Turkey: honey and caramel sweetness layered with vanilla, dark fruit, and a graham-cracker note, all framed by aged oak. The finish is long, with lingering spice playing against the dark, leathery depth.

How to Enjoy It at Camp West

At 110 proof, this one rewards a little patience. We suggest it neat to take in the full aroma, or over a large rock if you would like to open it up and soften the heat. It also makes a serious Old Fashioned for anyone who likes their cocktails with backbone. A pour is $19.

FAQ

What does “single barrel” mean here? Every bottle comes from one individually selected barrel rather than a blend of many, so each batch has its own distinct character.

Why is it non-chill-filtered? Skipping chill filtration keeps more of the natural oils and flavor compounds in the bourbon, giving it a fuller texture and more intense flavor.
