Woodinville Rye

Woodinville Rye is our hometown pride on the shelf here in West Seattle. Made by Woodinville Whiskey Co. just across Lake Washington in Woodinville, this is a true Washington whiskey, distilled grain-to-glass from rye grown on a single family farm in the state. At Camp West we love pouring local, and this 100% rye is one of the best ways to taste what the Pacific Northwest can do with the grain. It is the bottle we point to when a guest asks what is good and made close to home.

About the Distillery

Woodinville Whiskey Co. is a grain-to-glass distillery in Woodinville, Washington. Its rye starts with grain grown on the Omlin family farm in Quincy, Washington, which is then mashed and distilled at the Woodinville distillery and trucked over the Cascade Mountains to age in private barrel houses in the dry, temperature-swinging climate of Central Washington. That full ownership of the process, from the field to the barrel, is the heart of the brand’s identity.

Style & Mash Bill

This is a Washington straight rye whiskey made from a 100% rye mash bill, one of the few all-rye expressions on the market. It is pot-distilled on a hybrid copper pot still, aged at least five years in Central Washington, and proofed with purified Cascade Mountain water to 90 proof (45% ABV). The all-rye recipe delivers full, traditional rye spice.

Tasting Notes

Expect a nose of warm baking spice, caramel, and a little dried fruit. The palate is rich and grain-forward, with rye spice, vanilla, toffee, and notes of clove and pepper rounded out by the long Washington aging. The finish is warm and spice-driven with a touch of sweetness. It tastes distinctly of place.

How to Enjoy It at Camp West

We pour Woodinville Rye for $12. Neat is the way to appreciate this local pour and its 100% rye character. A single large cube softens the spice nicely for slow sipping. It also builds a wonderful regional Old Fashioned or Manhattan, a great way to drink local in a glass. Ask your bartender and we will set you up.
