Jägermeister

Jägermeister is the iconic German herbal liqueur that everyone recognizes by its dark bottle and orange label, and it is always chilled and ready at Camp West, our cabin-inspired cocktail bar and restaurant in the West Seattle Junction. Built from a secret blend of 56 botanicals, it is best served ice-cold, when its herbal complexity turns smooth and refreshing. We keep it on hand as a go-to shot and digestif, the kind of round that brings a table together on a fun night out in West Seattle.

About the Producer

Jägermeister has been made in Wolfenbüttel, Germany, since the 1930s, when Curt Mast perfected the recipe of 56 herbs, roots, fruits, and spices. The name means “master hunter,” and the famous deer-and-cross logo honors Saint Hubert, the patron saint of hunters. It is still produced by Mast-Jägermeister in the same Lower Saxony town today.

Style & Flavor

Jägermeister is a herbal liqueur (a Kräuterlikör) bottled at 35% ABV. Its 56 botanicals are macerated and then aged in oak before sugar, caramel, and alcohol are blended in. The style is dark, sweet, and herbal, with a syrupy texture that becomes noticeably smoother when served very cold.

Tasting Notes

Expect aromas of licorice, anise, and warm baking spice. The palate brings notes of herbs, citrus, cinnamon, clove, and a gentle medicinal-herbal backbone, all wrapped in a sweet, cooling finish. Served ice-cold, it drinks smooth and clean.

How to Enjoy It at Camp West

A pour of Jägermeister is $9 at Camp West, served ice-cold the way it is meant to be. Take it as a chilled shot, sip it as an after-dinner digestif, or ask our bartenders about herbal cocktails that put its botanical character to work. It is a reliable good time, straight from the freezer.
